Here’s what stays on your iPhone, what’s needed for purchases, and how you stay in control of your data.

Privacy policy

This policy describes how the POP app and this page process data. For questions about POP’s data processing, use the contact details at the bottom of this page.

1. Your videos and projects

Imported videos, captions, Pops, settings and edits are kept in the app’s storage on your device. POP does not send them to an editing server. Export takes place on your iPhone. If you share a video, it is sent to the service you choose in the iOS share sheet.

Device backups may include app data depending on your Apple settings. Files exported to Photos or Files remain in those apps even if you delete the project in POP.

2. Captions and intelligent suggestions

POP uses Apple speech recognition to create captions. On-device processing is preferred when available. Depending on your device, language and service availability, audio excerpts may be sent to Apple for transcription after the corresponding iOS permission is granted. You can also edit captions manually.

Pop suggestions are generated on your iPhone. On compatible devices, POP may use the local Apple Intelligence model; otherwise, a local engine suggests reactions. POP does not send transcripts to an external generative AI provider.

3. POP Pro purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes payments. POP does not receive your payment card number. RevenueCat verifies purchases, restores access and provides the offers screen. For these purposes, RevenueCat receives a technical identifier generated for the installation, purchased products, their dates and status, and technical information needed to provide the service, such as app and operating system versions.

POP does not associate this identifier with an account, your name or your email address. Network communications also expose technical information, including your IP address, to service providers. Purchase data is used to operate POP Pro and manage transactions.

4. Music and website

POP’s music loops are bundled with the app and used locally on your iPhone. Using them does not send your project or its content to an external music service.

This page does not add advertising or audience analytics tools. Its hosting provider may process technical logs needed to deliver and secure the website.

5. Why, and for how long?

Processing needed for editing, purchases and restoring purchases provides the features you request. Security and abuse prevention rely on the legitimate interest in protecting the service. iOS permissions let you control access to media and speech recognition.

Local projects remain until you delete them in POP or delete the app, subject to device backups. Purchase information is retained as needed to validate and restore access, process refunds and meet applicable legal obligations. A lifetime license may require proof of entitlement to be retained for as long as access must remain restorable. Support requests are retained while they are handled and, if needed, for the time necessary to resolve a dispute.

6. Providers and transfers

The relevant providers are Apple for iOS services and payments, RevenueCat for purchase management, and this page’s hosting provider. Their infrastructure may be outside your country, including in the United States. Their privacy documents describe processing locations and the safeguards applicable to international transfers.

7. Your choices and rights

You can delete a project from the projects list and change permissions in iOS Settings. Deleting POP does not cancel a subscription: use Apple’s subscription management.

Depending on your circumstances, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Contact us to exercise them; data stored only on your device is not accessible to the publisher. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local authority.

Terms & purchases

Editing and exporting are free. Free exports include the “made by Pop” signature in the bottom-left corner. POP Pro removes this signature from new exports while your Pro entitlement is active.

Three plans, the same benefit.
Weekly subscription, monthly subscription or lifetime purchase. The exact price in your currency and applicable terms appear in the app and are confirmed by Apple before any purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in your Apple Account settings. If a trial is offered, its duration, eligibility and subsequent charge are shown before confirmation. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase with no automatic renewal.

Manage or cancel a subscription · Request a refund from Apple

Use “Restore purchases” in POP with the Apple Account used for the purchase. Apple’s standard license terms apply: read the license agreement.

You retain the rights to your creations and must have the necessary permissions for videos, images, sounds and other content you import. Automatic suggestions and transcripts may contain errors; review them before sharing.
